The role of the service is to:

• Advise and inform women with benign breast disorders.
• Promote breast awareness.
• Inform and support patients and their families from diagnosis of breast cancer to treatment and beyond.
• Provide physical and psychological monitoring, screening for the development of anxiety.
• Advise on and supply women with permanent prostheses where appropriate. 
• Assessment and treatment of patients with lymphoedema. 
• Educate nursing staff on breast disease.
