Service networks
NICaN works to ensure a high quality, equitable cancer
service for patients, carers and their families throughout Northern Ireland. It does this by working through a range of clinical networks.
The clinical networks are organised by tumour
site (e.g. lung, breast) or crosscutting issues (e.g. chemotherapy
, primary care). They are made up of a range of health professionals from across the region and include public and patient representatives.
The groups are responsible for the development of regional standards, audit, patient pathways, service redesign, quality assurance
and the identification of funding priorities.
