Aids and equipment
Social Services can provide equipment and adaptations to make daily life easier at home, such as hand rails or a raised toilet seat. An occupational therapist will visit you to assess your needs. Your local doctor can refer you to the Occupational Therapy
Department for an assessment. Alternatively you can contact your local Social Services Department yourself and request a visit to assess your needs.
You can also get general advice and information about all types of equipment from the Disabled Living Foundation (tel: 0845 130 9177 or see www.dlf.org.uk).
