What are the symptoms?

  • diarrhoea that doesn't clear up

  • hot flushes

  • a wheezy chest

  • abdominal pain.

Some NETs cause their own particular symptoms. One type causes a distinctive skin rash; another can lower the body's blood sugar levels. In some cases a NET may cause a blockage in the bowel, and that is how it is discovered.

NETs don't always cause symptoms. In some cases the NET is found only when the patient is having tests for an entirely different reason.
