Where can I get more information?
Your GP, hospital doctors and other health professionals are there to support you, and to give you information. They are the only people who can tell you more about your particular cancer
and its treatment. It is part of their job to talk to you, so feel free to ask them questions.
Your cancer team may have a lung cancer or other nurse specialist who is an expert in helping people with your type of cancer.

The national Macmillan mesothelioma resource centre is a base from which high-quality information is available for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. There is also a freephone number: 0800 169 2409.

DIPEx (Database of Individual Patient Experience)
A national charity. Patient experience website. It aims to inform patients’ carers, families, and health professionals too. There are personal stories about how other people have coped with mesothelioma and lung cancer. DIPEx is a website which offers the opportunity to view video, hear audio and read about different patients’ experiences.

Ridings Asbestos Support & Awareness Group (RASAG)
RASAG runs the National Mesothelioma Helpline (see separate entry above). Their website has information on asbestos-related diseases and hosts a discussion forum. The Group produce free booklets about mesothelioma. They also have a helpline:
