What are the symptoms?

The most common symptoms are:

  • pain in the chest, lower back or abdomen
  • breathlessness
  • peritoneal mesothelioma may cause swelling of the abdomen

Sometimes:

A dry, persistent cough.

In some cases there may be no symptoms, or they may appear very gradually.

Other possible symptoms include:

  • loss of appetite
  • weakness
  • loss of weight

All these symptoms can be caused by other conditions, but if you are concerned, see your GP.
