What will life be like after treatment for gall bladder cancer?

If the cancer is found and operated on at an early stage, the long-term outcome is good. Surgery for cancers found as a result of other gall bladder conditions may be successful in up to four in 10 patients.

Follow-up

Your doctor will ask you to come back for regular check-ups. As part of this, you may have further X-rays or scans. You will also be given regular blood tests, every three months to start with.

You should let your GP or doctor know if you have any new symptoms or worries.
