Cervical screening – the facts
This leaflet explains what a smear test is, how it is carried out, who should have it, what happens afterwards etc.

You can download it from the NHS cancer screening website (in several languages) or ask at your local health promotion unit. The leaflet is also available in Braille and as an audio tape.
