Changes in the contract, which GPs have with the Health and Social Services Boards, meant that responsibility for providing emergency Out of Hours Medical Care will transfered to the Boards from GP Practices on 1 January 2005. This is provided by the Health and Social Care Trusts.

Patients may arrange to visit the Out of Hours Centre that is most convenient to them.
