Inca Trail Challenge
Do something different with this unique challenge which combines trekking the Inca Trail with the opportunity to volunteer at a local school in Peru!
Discover what the Spanish Conquistadors could not – the lost city of Machu Pichu, nestled in the magnificent Andes Mountains. Trek through mountain passes, remote unspoiled villages and jaw-dropping scenery.
Your first three days in Peru will be spent assisting with a local school development project – helping to repair and refurbish the building – while you acclimatise to the change in altitude. You will also have an opportunity to spend time with the children, many of whom have parents who help as porters and guides for the trek ahead.
The Inca Trail is a truly memorable trek through stunning scenery and Incan ruins. On the morning of Day 9 you arrive at the Sun Gate, a fabulous vantage point, to watch the sun rise over the mythical city of Machu Pichu – an experience of a lifetime! You will have plenty of free time to explore the city and even take a dip in the thermal waters of Aguas Calientes before returning by train to Cuzco.
Cost: A registration fee of £300 secures your place and a further £2,900 in sponsorship.
