Macmillan is providing a self management course for carers which consists of six 2 1/2 hour weekly sessions delivered by two professionally trained tutors who have experienced caring themselves.
Participants develop their self management skills and learn techniques to get more out of life. It’s FREE to anyone who is or has been caring for someone with cancer and there’s no referral process, but participants do need to book a place.
This self management course allows carers the time and space to deal with the concerns and issues that arise from their role in a structured and supportive environment. For example, there are goal setting activities and tools and techniques to help people to deal positively and confidently in their role as a carer.
The course in Dungannon will be delivered by Brendan Sherry and Paula McGleenan.
If you are supporting carers who you think would benefit from taking part in the course please encourage them to book a place on the course by contacting Madeleine Mulgrew on 028 87729 850 or 079 161 347 44 or email: info@cancerchoices.org.uk
