It is now widely accepted that many routine cancer follow up appointments serve little purpose in terms of detection of disease recurrence, yet they constitute a considerable medical workload. There is also evidence that the psychological needs and other concerns of people with cancer are not adequately addressed.

The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF), with support from Lidl Northern Ireland, is launching an exciting new educational resource called ‘Genevieve and the Farmyard Olympics’ designed to teach nursery school children about the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise as a first step to a healthier future.
