Your Cancer Network
The Northern Ireland Cancer
Network (NICaN) is Northern Ireland’s first regional managed clinical network.
The aim of the Network is to work towards the continuous improvement in cancer care and cancer survival for the people of Northern Ireland. It does this by supporting groups of health professionals, patients and charities to work together in a coordinated way, ensuring good communication and sharing good practice.
The Cancer Network is underpinned by seven guiding values.
The Cancer Network:
- supports its members in the delivery of services that are evidence based
- ensures equity of access and uniform quality of services for the population of Northern Ireland, and
- works across organisational boundaries following the patient pathway.
Network Structure
NICaN has a Board, which helps to steer the work of the Network. The Network Team delivers on the work programme of the Board by working closely with a number of clinical networks and NICaN's Public & Patient Involvement Forum.
